1- "WEIGHT LOSS ADVERTISING DECEPTION IS RAMPANT"

Well, it's not going to shock anyone to know this, but at least it is now official.

The US Federal Trade Commission has published a report that states weight loss adverts are generally a pack of lies !!

Here's a few extracts from the FTC report.

'Ads for billions of dollars of diet products and services sold each year often include false, misleading and exaggerated claims that promise rapid, effortless weight loss and unachievable goals, according to a government report released yesterday.' ..

'With nearly 70 million Americans trying to lose weight or to prevent weight gain at any given time, these rampant, deceptive claims not only waste money but also place some consumers at risk.' ..

'We have known for some time now that there is a serious problem with weight-loss product advertising,' said FTC Chairman Timothy J. Muris. 'This report demonstrates the extent of that problem.' ..

'At least 40 percent of the 300 ads reviewed in the two- year study made at least one false representation, such as 'can eat as much as you want and still lose weight' ..

'More than half of the ads either made false statements or statements that were very likely to be false, including the suggestion that pounds could be shed without cutting calories and increasing physical activity, and the promise of a steady weight loss of eight to 10 pounds per week.' ..

'Other ads made unproven claims about safety and effectiveness, and still others purported that their products produced long-term permanent weight loss, when there was little to support that claim.' ..

'It appears that too many unscrupulous marketers are making false claims promising dramatic and effortless weight loss to sell their products.' ..

'As with cigarette smoking and alcohol abuse, false or deceptive advertising of weight-loss products and services puts people at risk.' ..

'Many of the products and programs most heavily advertised are at best unproven and at worst unsafe.' ..

Here's an actual example of an advert they reviewed...

'Amazing Fat Fighting Diet Pill Produces an Extremely Fast Weight Loss..... Even if You Cheat or Refuse to Diet'

Obviously a crock of shit, but before you laugh too hard, doesn't that sound just like the muscle gain adverts as well that we see for bs weight gain/steroid alternative supplements all over certain websites??

I wonder what conclusion the FTC would come to if they did a review of "weight gain" supplements?

Check these "hard sell li(n)es" out...

"Please Read All The Exciting Details About This New Version Of The Oldest Yet Most Reliable Anabolic Stack In The World... Add 15 Pounds Of Pure Muscle, Easy!"

"Dermagain's New, Fast-Action Delivery System Slams 400 Big mg's Of Anabolic Hormones Directly Into Your Blood Stream Resulting In Extremely Rapid Muscular Gains!"

These arrived in an email from a big "steroid" replacement site just this week.

Don't believe the hype people, only steroids can do what steroids do. And don't waste your cash on supplements that don't work.

What better time to review some muscle building - fat burning principles than as we near the beginning of another new year.

2 - Fundamentals of Gaining Weight Fast

Train Intensely - You must work each set until you can't do another repetition in good form. There is no point in stopping at a set number of reps (such as 8), if you are capable of doing 12. Your body needs to be challenged or it will not adapt by building new muscle or burning off body fat.

Train Briefly - Your workouts need to be short. This is a very important weight lifting tip. You should never need to do a weight lifting routine that takes over an hour. If you are in the gym that long, you aren't working intensely enough. You can workout hard or long, but you can not do both. And to succeed in building muscle, you need to workout hard.

Train Infrequently - Your body needs time to recover from your weight lifting routine, so that in can adapt and grow. If you train with weights before your body is completey recovered, you won't add new muscle and will eventually over train, a big no no.

Train Progressively - You need to constantly challenge what your body can do by continuing to add more weight and/or repetitions to your previous best effort as often as possible. If you can bench press 50 pounds now, and 6 months from now you are still bench pressing 50 pounds, there is know way you'll be able to gain weight fast and add muscle to your skinny body.

Eat A Lot of Protein - Preferably, at leat 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight.

Eat A Lot of Calories - If your goal is to gain weight fast, you most likely have little body fat and a high metabolism. While in the gaining weight stage, don't worry about adding a little bit of fat during your gaining weight phase. A good rule of thumb to start with is to multiply your body weight by 20 to get the number of calories you should be consuming each day.

If you weight 150 pounds you should be consuming at least 3,000 calories a day. If you find, after a couple of weeks you haven't added any weight, you'll need to increase this number.

Eat 6 meals a Day - This makes sure your body has the protein and calories it needs at all times. It also allows you to eat the high number of calories that you need.

Use Protein Shakes - This will make it easier for you to consume enough calories and protein each day, as well as making it much more convenient to have 6 meals a day. Check out great protein powder products with the best prices on the internet. Click here

3 - Weight Loss Tips

TAKE ACTION!

Of all the weight loss tips below, without this one, they are all worthless. If you don't take action, nothing changes, no matter how much knowlege you acquire or how prepared you get.

So what's stopping you from taking this important step?

If you're like most people, fear is stopping you. Fear prevents too many people from achieving their goals in life, whether it be a successful career, or building their body.

You see, the most successful people in the world feel the same fear that you do. The only difference is that they go ahead and do what needs to be done anyway.

GO! Get started! Do something! Hit the gym. Eat that nutritious meal. Put these weight loss tips into action.

Follow these weight loss tips today!

You don't have to know everything to get started. Do a few weight exercises a couple of days a week, drop one thing in your diet that you know you shouldn't have. You can fine tune your program as you go, doing more and more of the things you need to do.

Forget about whether supplement A is better than supplement B of if turkey is better than chicken or should you have whey protein with casein or take them separately.

If you aren't doing the fundamental weight loss tips correctly, these things just don't matter. This goes back to a previous article I wrote where I stated that things such as narrow grip, wide grip, etc. won't mean a thing if there are major flaws in the fundamentals of your training program.

* Forget about supplement dosages * Forget about macronutrient cycling * Forget about exercise variations * Forget about glycemic indexes * Forget about the latest Eastern European periodization program *

Master the fundamental weight loss tips first!

1 - Lift weights

2 - Burn more calories than you consume

3 - Eat 5-6 small, frequent meals and never skip meals

4 - Taken in a few tablespoons of good fats such as flax seed or sunflower oil

5 - Eat natural foods; avoid processed & refined foods

6 - Drink a lot of water

7 - Eat more fibrous carbs, fruits & vegetables

8 - Consume at least 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body mass

9 - Perform high intensity cardio

If you're not doing all these weight loss tips well, and you're looking for the perfect supplement stack or the optimum periodization plan, then you are just setting yourself up for failure from the beginning.

Follow these weight loss tips consistently and you won't need to do all these other things.

Don't get me wrong, the little details can help, especially when you are at that point where you almost have the body you want. But if you put the details ahead of these fundamental weight loss tips, you are not going to get the results you are hoping for with your program.

Do you know what is the biggest fat loss mistake made by beginners?

As many of you are aware, gym memberships always shoot up in January and February. All of the sudden, you can't get the equipment you want without a long wait. Don't worry, as you move into March, most of the newcomers will be gone because they've quit.

Results may come slowly for most of you, unless you are genetically blessed, and by definition, there are very few of those people around. But if you stick with it long enough, if you resolve to make it a lifestyle and not a quick fix, if you follow these weight loss tips, you will get the results that you want.
