Diet Hamptons
Diet Hamptons - The originator of this diet is the former medical director of the Atkins Center, Dr. Fred Pescatore.
Dr. Fred Pescatore previously wrote Thin For Good where he popularized the low-carb Mediterranean-style diet. His Hamptons diet builds on that diet, as well as Atkins.
I have two main points to make regarding this "new" nutrition plan. One is that it works. The other is that it's not really
any different from anything that has come before it.
The main difference that is touted with the diet hamptons information is Dr. Pescatore's "secret ingredient", Australian macadamia nut oil. Macadamia nut oil is a highly concentrated monounsaturated oil
(omega 9 fatty acid( and is most definitely a healthy oil with numerous benefits.
The Dr.'s diet hamptons advocates eliminating saturated fats while staying away from processed foods such as bacon and dried sausages, and eating whole foods.
These are definitely good moves, as processed foods don't really have any redeeming qualities as far as our health is concerned.
By avoiding processed foods, you cut down on saturated fats, trans fatty acids, empty sugar calories, and nasty chemicals that just don't belong in your body.
In contrast, whole foods are the foods that our much healthier ancestors used to eat and contain the vital nutrients that we need to stay healthy - vitamins, minerals, fiber, etc.
Will the hamptons diet plan work? Yes, like most carb control programs it will help you get your insulin levels under control and allow you to safely lose weight in a healthy manner.
The plan has lots of good recipes using REAL butter and REAL fruit (but no fruit juices.)
There really are only slight differences between the diet hamptons, the south beach diet, diet makers, high protein diet, etc. I suggest you take a look at them all, note the differences and decide which is best for you.
